Caring for Yourself

One of the most important and overlooked aspects of running a successful business or home life is self care. When we rest and feed ourselves we have more energy to put into our family, our business, our life. If you need help getting started, pick from this menu of ideas:

Pajama Day

My favorite! After everyone has left the house. Put on your favorite, most comfy pjs and crawl back into bed. Read, write, watch movies all day, or whatever makes you feel decadent!

Collage

Cut out pictures and words from magazines. Use glue stick or tape to arrange them on a colored paper or an old manilla folder. You can use this to focus on a personal or professional goal, or just to let your creative brain play. Fantasize about a new home, vacation, healthier body, freedom, nature, whatever tickles your fancy!

Take a Walk

On a beach or in a neighborhood, there is nothing like a walk to soothe your soul. If you have access to a beach, sit your buns in the sand and build a sand castle with a moat. Smell the roses that others tend and grow. It is wonderful to enjoy gardens, even when you do not have to tend them!

Write a Letter

Get a pen and a piece of paper. Write an old fashioned letter to a friend. After the shock wears off, they'll love you for it. You can play with buying stationery (yes, they still sell it) or make your own on your computer. Regular old lined or printer paper works just as well.

Write in a Journal

See above, but use a notebook and don't mail it.

Read

Escapism at its best. Get good book, curl up, and disappear.
